Yesterday I had my seventh out of twelve treatments. It went pretty well considering. They wanted to make sure that one of my meds wasn't causing some lung and heart damage so I had to get a chest xray and EKG before I began. Everything came back 'normal' and no scar tissue was apparent. Because I was systematic, they eliminated the drug "B" in the ABVD which can be very harmful. Because I am responding so well, eliminating this at this time would not jeopardize my treatment. I will consult with my regular doc about this next week when I see him, to see if this is something we should stop permanantly. I will recommend also that he consults with my doctor at Mayo about this.
I want to again thank Jason for coming to be with me and for continually being my 'rock. Thank you to Seija for coming to sit with me and for bringing her beautiful daughter Malia. Also a thank you to Sarah for making the trip up again to be with me and to help out at home last night. All of your help, support, hugs, tears, and understanding are so appreciated!
So 7 down, 5 to go. Although 5 will seem like a lot, keep it top of mind that it's ONLY 5 more to go. Then we pray that the nightmare is behind you (and us) and that it will be over FOREVER.
ReplyDeleteXXOO to All. See you soon!
