Chemo makes my clothes fall off????

I met with my doctor and nurse practitioner this afternoon. My blood work is looking very good and we are ready to begin chemo tomorrow morning. The first day looks like a shorter day, but could be the day where I feel most lousy because this first drug has an alchohol base to it...it appears that I could feel like I have a hangover...minus the booze...oh great!! We'll see if chemo makes my clothes fall off!! :)

I will get chemo now for the next 6 days and if all goes well my new birthday will be next Wednesday, November 18th when I get my stem cells back. They anticipate that I will tolerate the chemo pretty well, but did warn me that the days that I will feel the worst will begin 4 days after my transplant and go for about a week. I'm not focusing on that right now, just keeping my eye on the ball for tomorrow and getting admitted to the hospital.

My friend Rita is with me this week and has brought a breathe of fresh air to me..she has been so supportive and has brought so much humor and laughter to me. It's been a healing week being with this special lady and I'm honored to have her with me.

  1. Make sure you have lots of soda crackers on hand if you are going to be hung over! I pray that all goes better than expected, that you feel GREAT, and that the stem cells get in there and bring a huge breath of fresh "air" to your body. You go girl. Say "Hi" to Rita for me. I love her giggle.

Hugs and all that stuff :-)

  5. How exciting that things are progressing so fast! Bummer about the "good" effects being missed on the alcohol thing! You are still in our bedtime prayers (which obviously is working). Keep fighting like a girl!

P.S. I wore the shirt in Wausau and got many stares...no questions, but many looks!

    Keep being brave!
