Harvest Season

I received word that my levels were high enough to begin harvesting the stem cells right away on Monday morning. The process takes about 5 hours and the process begins at 7 a.m. I'm actually sitting here as I type hooked up to the machine that is taking out my stem cells. It is quite an amazing process how it's all done, and the nurses that work here are absolutely amazing. I feel quite comfortable here and it's been going very well.

I will come in each day to harvest until they reach their goal of 5 million stem cells. After each day of harvesting, the nurses call me in the evening to let me know how many were harvested and whether or not I need to come back the next day. It's quite a gamble and you never know from day to day what you will be doing.

I'm in this bed for many hours and not able to get out, but it's a great time to reflect and get some reading done.
