A Farm Filled With Men Thinking Their Tractor Is Sexy!

Today we enjoyed the 2010 Antique Tractor and Threshing Show....for many of you that don't know what this is, it is a day that takes us all back to how things used to be done on the farm before all of the 'fancy' equipment was invented.  On this day people from all over the county bring their antique equipment and tractors to a local farm and work it all day for people to see and learn. The day is filled with so many activities and things going on that you can't help but have a wonderful time.  Below are just a few of the fun things that we did today and created so many wonderful memories of!

Jason and Dylan have created a strong bond between each other with the tractor.  This year they entered in our tractor into the show.
Dylan and Jason worked so hard throwing straw into the thresher
They entered into the "slowest" tractor competition...this is them getting ready....
The tractors lined up for the race....it's MUCH harder than you think to go the slowest!!
Jason and Dylan were in the final two...it was a GREAT race, but they didn't take first - there is some very tough competition out there!
And then they entered the tractor into the parade - I believe there were 76 total! The 'rumble' of the tractor put Hayden right to sleep....
Dylan and Hayden worked so hard throwing corn stalks into the machine that took the cobs off
Jason and I entered in the blindfolded race...we had a blast!  Jason was blindfolded and I had to use my 'communication' skills to maneuver him throw the cones and then through the final two. We did very well together and it was so much fun...it's so nice when he listens and does what I say - haha!
We all learned how, and Dylan got to 'make rope'.  They had a machine that you turn by hand that twists the twine together to make the rope.  The kids were also able to pick out three colors of yarn to add into the rope..it's all very intriguing and hard work!
We also took a wagon ride to the next farm that had exotic animals...we enjoyed seeing so many cool things and also getting a peacock feather to take home. Except for the almost serious mishap with the crazy tractor driver, we had a good trip!
And....it was a day that we were able to share with some very special people in our life.  Thank you Anderson girls for all of the laughter and memories today. We sure had a fabulous time!
