Our trip to Tammy and Jeff's went very well. The boys were awesome and handled the trip so well. We were so proud of them. Thanks to Grammy & John for buying activites and snacks for the trip! We were pretty tired when we got here, but we enjoyed a drink and great company with our family.

We headed for Mayo bright and early this morning! The trip to Rochester is a beautiful one and was only about 2 hours. Once we arrived at Mayo we were astonished at how 'grand' this place really is. There are really no words that could effectively describe this place and do it justice. We were welcomed with smiles and open arms by the Mayo staff as soon as we arrived, which put as at ease right away. We met with my Oncologist first thing and Dani was there to greet us with her smile and to take care of us. Our doctor is one of the senior physicians at Mayo and is very well known for his work and research with Lymphoma. We feel very confident in him and his abilities.

My schedule was changed a bit today and I only did blood work and the bone marrow extraction which went well. I am definately sore now as I sit on the couch typing to all of you, but it's not terrible. We will have a 'fun day' tomorrow and then back to Mayo on Friday for my PET scan and then for an appointment with the doctor to talk about results and treatment options.

As I reflect about the day I am more optimistic and hopeful about all of this no matter what the results are. Thank you to everyone for your posts, prayers, and encouragement. It means more to us than you will ever know!

  6. Hey, Lady! Tina called for an update this eve and sends her love and prayers! Take in all of the R and R tomorrow and suck it up, enjoy it to the max! Time for a break! So good to hear the hope in your words and you were in my thoughts and prayers all day - I "fondled" the Serenity Prayer MANY times today and did a lot of deep breathing! Pastor Jim stopped to see me and asked about all of you and special prayers are flowing upward! Hang in there and remember I love you all and will see you soon! Something "yummy" on the grill is in the works for Sat thanks to Tina and can't wait to give all of you hugs!! Granny

  13. Glad to hear your spirits are high. Remember how powerful the gift of prayer is and right now you have many coming your way. Mayo is an awesome place. If you get bored, you can always get lost when you get off the elevator on the wrong floor like my dad and I seemed to do. It was amazing we made it to an appt. on time. Have a fun day!!!
