We all made it home safely after a long week! Jeff and my mom had all of the kids and headed to Mellen Friday afternoon. The trip went well and the kids were awesome. They were all so very excited to get to Mellen to see their other cousins and all finally get to play together again.

Tammy, Jason and I were at Mayo for most of the day on Friday. I had my PET scan in the morning, had lunch at a very nice cafe in the Peace Plaza, and then had my appointment with Dr. Habermann in the afternoon. My bone marrow biopsy showed no cancer in the bones so that was a relief. Due to where my cancer is, we will need to do a minimum of 6-8 sessions of chemo which equivalates out to about 6-8 months. After 2 months I will go back to Mayo for another PET scan to see how effective the treatment is. I will begin working with Ashland to try to get my treatments there, otherwise it will be in Duluth. Hoping I can make it work in Ashland for convenience sake.

We are really functioning now day by day and trying not to become overwhelmed, but there is so much to think about and so much that is unknown yet. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the posts, prayers, and emails! I love everyone of them and have been pasting them into my journal! =)

  1. So good to hear from you. A quote that makes me think of you my dear: "You never know how strong a woman is until she gets into hot water." Now think if we compile all the strength being sent to you through prayer - you're invincible :-) and wise too. We're here day by day.
    Luv ya tons~

  4. Hello Miranda
Glad to hear trip went well! Thinking of you daily and always here for you if I can do anything. I was thinking of a little saying I think I heard of Winnie the Pooh, it goes something like this, but don't quote me my memory is not up to par lately! You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think, or it could be stronger than you believe but either way you get the point. I know you are all those in whatever way you phrase it. Thanks for the update and enjoy your weekend with family and your beautiful boys.

  10. It was so great to hear your voice today but most importantly your laugh. You are the only one that can bring me to that gut bursting, tear jerking laughter. We'll have to have a lot of those sessions in the weeks and months to come! You are a one of a kind friend who has one of the biggest hearts I know. That heart and desire for life will help you conquer anything!
Love ya with all I got,

    Bugs,
Ever since this started, you have been in my thoughts every moment. Wishing I could trade places with you faster than it takes for you to read this. I'm there for you for anything at any moment, just give me the word. We'll get through this together, as a family should. I love you honey.
