Ten years of climbin' that ladder
Oh, but money and power don't matter
When the doctor said "the cancer spread"
She holds on tight to her husband and babies
And says "this is just another test God gave me.
And I know just how to handle this"
I'll hold my head high
I'll never let this define
The light in my eyes
Love myself, give it Hell
I'll take on this world
If I stand and be strong
No, I'll never give up
I will conquer with love
And I'll fight like
Like a girl
These are lyrics of a song that a friend of mine told me reminded her of me...I never really put much thought into that until the last couple of days. I have been reflecting on a lot of things and dealing with so much since yesterday morning. Yesterday I was told that my cancer has progressed while I was getting treatment. This blow hit me and Jason very hard. We are set up to head over to the Mayo Clinic early next week. Thanks to my sweet angel friend Dani for helping me once again...she has come through for me in so many ways and I will forever be grateful to her and her heart!
Next week I will be getting another surgery to remove another lymph node and then will be consulting with a surgeon about a stem cell transplant. There is a lot to think about and plan and I'm sure a lot more struggles to hurdle, but you can be rest assured "I'M GONNA FIGHT LIKE A GIRL!"
Miranda,
ReplyDeleteYou have been on my mind since I read Gwen and Seija's facebook statuses last night. I will be praying extra hard for you. I do believe anything is possible, look at Lance Armstrong.
Love,
Jaimee
You go GIRL. And we will all be beside you cheering you on. My heart is breaking for you and Jason, but I know that the tough survive. God says to trust in him and to not worry, but to give it to Him and He will provide. That is much easier said than done, but I fully believe in it. I will pray, and pray, and pray for all of you.
ReplyDeleteWith all my love!

I totally agree,Miranda - you go and you fight like a GIRL! We will all fight right beside you! And I will fight for my son and my boys, too! I'm here for all of you and will do whatever it takes and together, we will WIN this battle! God WILL provide, He will walk beside you and Jason and all of us through all of this! I will do my best with those babies --you know they will be in good hands and you GO and you FIGHT LIKE A GIRL! I love you all so much! Granny

Just wanted to say that my prayers are with you and you are a real inspiration to one of my good friends. About 2 months ago she got diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma and she just started treatment about a month ago. It has been difficult for her but telling her a little about your story and how strong you have been has really given her the courage to fight! so thank you for that! as i said before my prayers are with you and you will OVERCOME <3

If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or fight like hell. ~Lance Armstrong
