The meaning of community

Today was officially my first day back to work since I had to leave for my transplant and my treatment at the end of October. It was the most wonderful day! Everyone welcomed me back with such open arms and excitement! I had beautiful cards, balloons, hugs, and a cake awaiting my arrival.

Gogebic Community College has been nothing less than supportive and wonderful to me and my family while I have been trying to heal. Being a newer employee, I was nervous about how this would end up for me, but through this journey, they have stood by my side every step of the way and have been cheering for me as if I have known them my whole life. GCC's employees and upper management know the meaning of a community, and they will do whatever they can to step up to the plate to ensure that their 'community' is taken care of. I am proud to say that I am a part of this community! Thank you so much everyone!
