I had the pleasure of traveling for work this month for a conference which was held in downtown Denver. It has been so long since I was able to travel so this was a real treat. Even though my travels down were horrible due to weather, I had a really nice time.
My 'adopted' family in Rochester has family in Denver so I looked them up! They came and picked me up from my motel and gave me the 'mini' tour. We enjoyed a wonderful drive past the mountains and into the foothills. They took me to a very nice golf course that is known for Elk and other animals to wander through and we enjoyed a great dinner. On the way back into town we saw so many mule deer and elk - it was all very exciting and I'm sure my 'tour guides' were laughing to themselves at all of the ooooing and ahhhing I was doing. It was soooo wonderful to see Dee and Wayne, and now I understand when they tell me when they are in Rochester that they "miss the mountains".
I also met some wonderful people at the conference and got to see a little bit of downtown Denver. It all was quite a culture shock for me and truly I was glad to be back in my little bitty town.

Looks like you had a great time! Brenda would always tell me how the mountains were almost like a security blanket to her. I can understand it once you visit because when you look out almost every window or door you can see mountains...amazing!
