Thanks to the wonderful opportunities that the 9th Hour program at the school offers, Dylan was able to participate in the 2012 Barnebirkie. With his new interest in skiing because of the 9th Hour Ski club, he was excited to try out his new talents. Since skiing hasn't really been something our family has done, this was a wonderful and exciting experience for us. The day was overwhelming but heartwarming to see so many families there supporting their kids in this race.
I could tell that Dylan was nervous, but I was so proud of him. He put his heart and soul into that race and after falling and getting a nasty shiner, he sailed through the finish line holding his head up high. Words can't express how proud I was of this accomplishment and am so happy that I was able to cheer him on. One of the first things he asked me after he crossed the finish line was if he could do it next year - my response was "absolutely buddy!".
Congratulations on your first Barnebirkie Dylan!
