Well, I'm well on my way now to kicking some nodes! Had my first treatment today which ended up being a long afternoon. I went in at 12:30 and left at around 5:00 p.m. My treatments won't be this long from now on (about 3 hours) but today I had to do the 'rookie' stuff. It's amazing how much you really learn about science etc when going through this...truly amazing! My heart did drop a bit seeing so many people there today getting their treatments....this is a horrible disease that affects so many people. The nurses at the treatment center are SOME AWESOME PEOPLE and made every experience this afternoon a comforting one as it can get very overwhelming. I have a feeling I will become fast friends with each and every one of them.
I am feeling pretty good tonight, but am very exhausted.....I am hitting the hay now, but just wanted to give everyone a quick update. Hugs to everyone - love you all!
Hey you,
ReplyDeleteThought about you all afternoon. Glad things went smoothly. You'll be "bringing sexy back" soon with your new look!
Love ya,

Been waiting for an update on the blog and had a hard time not calling and saying "how'd it go?" but KNEW we'd all know as soon as you had a minute! Also KNOW those boys come first and it would be a long day for you. Hang in there lady! I love you! Granny

Hi Miranda: I'm so happy to hear your day went smoothly for you. Here is one of the verses that a friend of mine found peace in as she was battling breast cancer -- "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble." Psalm 46:1 Tammy may have told you about Claudia, our piano teacher. She is a survivor -- just as you will be!!
ReplyDeleteHi Miranda,
ReplyDeleteI'll be so glad when this is over for you and you've recovered, so you can get on with your life. I've always heard that those treatments are exhausting, and nauseating: what a combo. I know you have the right attitude, a strong body, and a good support group to pull you through this nightmare.
If there's something we can do, other than cheer from the sidelines, just let us know.
Be well, Pal.
JGW
